City Concept

Overgrown Room

These are two small projects in the style of post apocalyptic decay. I used premade assets to design these scenes and further edited these to fit the look that I was aiming for. Using premade assets make my workflow much faster and I’m able to iterate through different looks faster than if I were to make everything from scratch.
Making these two post apocalyptic scenes were very fun, as you can start to build something and then start to destroy it. This is where I’m able to start story telling as to what might have happened here, who lived there? What was the cause of this? How long after the start is this scene into the Apocalypses?
All these questions help me to Art Direct how things are supposed to look eg. how broken things are such as windows, how far the Ivy is growing, how much water is flooding the city. The more questions I can ask and build on this story the better my final look will look.
Finally I was focusing on the lighting of these two scenes. I wanted there to only be one source of light being the sun which made it simpler to work with and this also helps to tell more of a story, with the fact that there are no more artificial light sources in these fantasy worlds.
